New HO Scale 1940's Era Switcher (without handrails and couplers installed)

Reproduction of a Baldwin Locomotive DS-4-4-1000 yard switcher manufactured by Stewart Hobbies. All of my railroad engines and freight cars are new HO scale running versions of actual equipment that rode the rails during the first half of the twentieth century.

Asteroid Misses Earth

A ten story sized asteroid, similar to the object that exploded over Siberia destroying 80 million trees in June 1908, came hurling near the earth at an altitude of 72,000 kilometers this past Saturday. With an explosive capacity of 1000 Hiroshima sized atomic bombs, an earth impact or air burst would have been disastrous. It is NOT reassuring that we only had three days notice prior to the fly-by. You can read the full story here.
